Coombs Quarry and Padbury Brook

Meet in the Car Park for historic Thornborough bridge off the A421, a couple of miles east of Buckingham, for a short walk along the brook through fields to the quarry with limestone strata exposed.

The Coombs Quarry site is quite overgrown and rough in places. Members are therefore advised to wear stout shoes or boots and to bring a walking stick/pole if they normally use one. Once within the site there is a good grassy viewing platform with excellent interpretation boards.

The Car Park is as previously announced in the Summer Programme – off the A421 at the historic Thornborough Bridge a couple of miles east of Buckingham (GR: SP 730332).

See the website for the Bucks Geology Group for more details.
