Another opportunity to visit this superb chalk down-land site – a National Nature Reserve. Specialist plants include Spotted Cat’s-ear and Pasqueflower, with plentiful butterflies and bird life. Steep hills and energetic walking!
Park in Pegsdon Way. Approx. 1 mile east of Hexton at the tiny hamlet of Pegsdon; turn left off the main B655 between Barton-le-Clay and Hitchin into Apsley End Road then first right into Pegsdon Way which is a short piece of residential road. Park before ‘The View’ Inn on the right-hand side of the road. There is space for parking along this road, but please car share if at all possible.
