52 photos were submitted as entries in the 2026 photo competition. 

Photos are numbered sequentially from 1-52, beginning with 1 (in Birds) to 52 (in Habitats etc.).
These numbers and the photo title appear when you hover over the photograph

Please note that the website puts each photo icon in the same size and shape. To see the full photograph, you will need to enlarge it by clicking on the ‘magnifying glass’.  You can scroll through the photos in the ‘enlarged’ mode, if you wish to.

To vote, select your choice of the top 2 photos in each of the 5 categories, and email them to photocomp@mknhs.org.uk by 03 March 2026 Please include the number of the photo and its title, as well as your name.

Voting is only open to current MKNHS members.

The Voting schedule is as follows:

1.  Round 1 voting: Members have a week to decide their choice of top two per category for Round 1. Members send in their choices by email to the photocomp@mknhs.org.uk mailbox. (Round 1 votes to be received by  03 March 2026)
2.  The votes are counted and the top 10 photos selected. The top eight photos are posted on the website one week after the deadline for voting in Round 1, i.e. by 10 March 2026
3.  Round 2 voting: Members have one week to send in their votes for the top three photos. (Round 2 votes to be received by 17 March 2026)
4.  Votes are counted and the top 3 selected.
5.  Winners will be announced at the evening MKNHS meeting on Tuesday 24 March 2026, one week after the deadline for voting for Round 2. The Winner will be awarded the Ron Arnold Shield
