A supermoon is great: the moon looks around 14% bigger and 30% brighter. It’s a treat for photographers and stargazers, but we get around four to six of these per year, so they’re not that exciting.Then there’s a total lunar eclipse – also known as a blood moon, due to its red tint. These occur less regularly, between zero and three times per year.
