The Society has received an invitation to attend the Linear Habitats and TVERC Spring Recorders Conference on 27 February 2016.
Please read this following email from the Buckinghamshire & Milton Keynes Environmental Records Centre for more information:
We have been sent a flyer by our sister records centre – TVERC (Thames Valley Environmental Records Centre). They cover Berkshire and Oxfordshire, and have asked to circulate this invite as they are aware many recorders go “ over the line”. It’s for a conference on Saturday 27th February, to be held at the Oxford University Museum of Natural History. A copy of the poster is attached (PDF).
They like us have annual conferences for all their recorders, this year’s topic is Linear Habitats and Pollinators, which chimes with various things happening in Bucks.
For those who haven’t been to the Museum it’s an amazing building, full of wonderful exhibits on all manner of natural history. Many of which can be closely observed. IT also backs onto the world renowned Pitt-Rivers Museum if ethnographic collections are also of interest. The building itself is highly recommended, particularly as they recently completed a major tranche of restorations which have brightened the whole place up and restored the unique glass roof. There is a charge for the day, but has been kept to a minimum of £10 per head for non-corporate / professional attendees; payable on the day. Lunch is excluded so you will need to bring your own.
If you are interested you may wish to enquire direct of Hannah at TVERC via Hannah.email@example.com Please note BMERC cannot answer any questions nor take bookings, they will need to go direct.
They also post an online booking form at https://tverc.wufoo.com/forms/rnzk4ps0vqvqnx/ which has a location map and other details on it. You will need to pre-book.
